The Faculty of Science has lined up some special programmes devised to expand the depth and breadth of the education of students who relish academic challenges.

Students with a special passion for Science are given opportunities to experience the intensive Special Programme in Science (SPS) which introduces participants to some of the broad areas of contemporary scientific concerns through an interdisciplinary approach. The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme in Science (UROPS) provides a unique opportunity for students to engage in research in a specific area of study and to experience first hand the exhilaration of discovery and invention. Students in the applied sciences work for a semester in attachments related to their majors under the Professional Placement Programme (PPP), where they are able to put into practice skills they have acquired in their coursework and pick up new ones from the workplace.
